Shamantte nani?
Shaman... mereka yang dapat berkomunikasi dengan dewa, roh, dan orang mati, mereka yang meminjam kekuatan roh untuk melakukan berbagai macam hal.
Shaman ini jugalah yang mengispirasikan mangaka Takei Hiroyuki untuk mengarang Shaman King, atau yang sering disingkat mankin saja.Pada pertengahan tahun 1998, ide ini direalisasikan dalam majalah mingguan shonen jump, yang mengeluarkan serial-serial shounen lain yang cukup terkenal, seperti Dragon Ball, Rorouni Kenshin, Naruto, One Piece, dan Tennis no Oujisama.
Menyusul kesuksesan dalam majalah mingguan ternama itu, Shaman King untuk pertama kalinya diaangkat ke layar kaca TV – Tokyo pada 04 Juli 2001,hingga usai tayang pada 25 September 2002.
